Sealing a 5 piece bathtub alcove surround?

I suggest shimming the gap rather than cualking it. I just completed a three wall system. It is best to make the unit square on itself for looks and interity since all the space behind the walls become dead space and useless. Home Depot website has some great videos to follow.
