What is the marginal product revenue of an US marine?

the US soldier does not have a marginal revenue product as there is no marketable, monetary output ociated with a soldier's professional activities. Much the same can be said for many other occupations. Soldiers are collectively organized and undertake duties as part of a regiment....an individual soldier's contribution may be impossible to detemine except perhaps where individual acts of heroism are clear....but even then there is no revenue productivity attached to soldiers' performances. Wages here will be determined by the relative attractiveness of enrolment to the wage on offer relative to other occupations of comparable risk (there are few) the ability to retain experienced soldiers, the cost to taxpayers and, dare I say it, the politics of war. The government should decide on military grounds, on the advice of senior military commanders and generals on the ground, the numbers of soldiers deployed in theatre on the basis of what is required to defeat the enemy....then factor in the costs on the basis of these judgements .
