How to get rid of bedbugs?

I have had a few bedbugs in my apt and have called an pest control twice and have had my apt treatted twice. Both times they said I did not appear to have an infestation problem....I have stripped my beds and looked everywhere and have found about 5 bugs in about 4 months. I was told i did not have a problem but probably just picked up one or two in a hotel. today I found one bug on my bed so I killed it and sprayed the mattress with comet where it left what appeared to be eggs. Does comet kill them or do I Need to use something else. It appears I just picked up one more random but I don't want the eggs to hatch.
