Okay, time to change hoof bandage... What works best?

Poor horse stepped on nail three days ago. Today is the day the Vet told me to take his bandage off hoof and put one one myself after I soak it. What is the best stuff to use? I don't feel confidant mine will stay on like his did. Any advice?
