Any1 know the name of the movie where the main character (man) was shot thru the stomach with a cannonball?

I believe it's a movie from the 80s or 90s and the man shot is a professor or something of that sort. I think it's a lady who's to blame for shooting him, and right before she does it, (if I remember correctly) she scratches her nails on the wall. He ends up with a huge hole through his body. Takes place in a pool setting...? Please help!!!!!!
