Did your wedding reception turn out how you planned?

I'm not saying this in a mean way, but grow a backbone, girl! Be pleasant but FIRM. When she makes a suggestion you don't like, smile and say, "NO, thank you. I would like *this*.' If she insists, you say again (in the exact same voice and tone, "NO, thank you. I would like *this*." I have found this to be very effective. You don't change your wording, because it might sound like a weaker response then before, and then she'll take that cue that she can talk you into what she wants. You just keep repeating the same line, in the exact same tone of voice, until it is *crystal* clear to her. All with a smile of course!
